Helmut Lang

Helmut Lang was born in Vienna in 1957. He began making clothes on his own, and when he designed and wore his own T-shirts, they became popular, and he began making clothes for his friends on order. In 1976, he established his own brand, and in 1997, he moved to the U.S., where he worked as a designer until 2005. Helmut Lang's designs have been called the perfection of minimalism, and were characterized by combining minimalism with avant-garde elements, and he created simple yet detailed pieces with unsymmetry and unique cuts that left a lasting impression. He used many materials that were not mainstream at the time, such as nylon and mesh, and added military elements to the mode, always remaining revolutionary and achieving an ideal style with high functionality and no decoration.
