Shop rin art association is pleased to present “Fairy Tale,” a solo exhibition by h220430.
“Hansel and Gretel”, one of the most famous Grimm's fairy tales, is a fantasy of a house of sweets and a story of a parents’ abandonment of their children, which is both a comedy and a tragedy. Many stories with happy endings contain various social problems, and many stories are retold today to warn us about these problems and to remind us of the present.
Happy endings and bad endings are always back to back, and the attribute that everything can be changed by an unexpected accident or the actions of the protagonist overlaps with the lives and histories of all people.
h220430 is a design label by architect Satoshi Itasaka, which presents products incorporating various concepts with the intention of confronting problems inherent in contemporary society.
This exhibition consists of two works, “Balloon Bench,” which floats with balloons, and “Mushroom Lamp,” which uses mushrooms as a motif. The works of h220430, created in dialogue with contemporary society, bring the viewer closer to the essence of the issues by actually using them.
We hope this will be an opportunity for you to reconsider your own story.
